This one purple as the sky
surrounding steps of lightning falls.

This one blue as sifted sand
within the eye of desert stones.

This one red as seasoned grapes
that fall like pollen, honey sweet.

This one black as treeline break
that lets the sun rest her feet.

This one gray as serene curtains
left within a lonely room.

This one orange as a flower
upon a tree, bearing fruit.

This one green as pebbled glass,
held seaspecks, swimming there.

And this one slow and brown as roots
that nourish what is left to share.

All these stones a part of me.
Please don't throw them out to sea.

"I fall into your arms."

I love this Mikey...
probably because I collect stones...
Great imagery and use of color here.

I really enjoyed this so much. I too collect rocks and have them from all over the world. In my mind, there is nothing better than touching and holding a piece of the earth that dates back to the beginning of time.

I enjoyed this piece immensely, Mr.Squirrel.
It relaxed me so much that I feel like I'm stoned for some reason.

An excellent write, I think all of us can find pieces of ourselves in this...

Mikey, I think you've portrayed

I like collecting stone and shells too, used to put them in my fish tank, after a while I ran out of room for the fish.  But I can remember where most of them came from and if I was with someone.  Keep them stones, keep them memories.
