Claim and Flame

Caressed by the velvet of love
Flown on wings of a snow white dove
Placed a garden of daffodils
By the common of youthful frills

Set an altars periphery
Put horizons Eternity
Forever’s pillow under their head
While fantasy kindles the spread

And bells sing with a golden chime
The Gods smile on a timeless time.
The winds are soft the sands are warm
This moment, a lifetime of norm

A firefly and endless think
A spark of light an endless wink
A king and queen upon a throne
Another world and all alone

The Pentecost of a claim
The holocaust of a flame

====================================

You KNOW you had ME from the title!!!

How am I supposed to pick fave lines in this when each one is so poetically smooth and each one is a companion with the other to form these couplet of rhyme divine and phrases of praises.
COUPLETS OF WAAAAAAY COOL

How you master personification and imagery is only matched by your vocabulary and sense of internal rhymes:

Set an altars periphery
Put horizons Eternity
Forever's pillow under their head
While fantasy kindles the spread

the idea behind Forever's Pillow is so clever all I can do is smile at you

and as for the whole intend of that closing summation couplet....

The Pentecost of a claim
The holocaust of a flame

Those two lines encompass more poetically and philosophically than my small moth mind will ever fully comprehend...but then thats what I have you for. *L*

and as for these lines....

A firefly and endless think
A spark of light an endless wink

Yeah...endless *winkiewinkies* works for me

When I read your work, I find I am without the proper words to describe the way they make me feel. You have mastered the art of poetry in a way I wish I was capable of. Truly each one is a delight.

"A king and queen upon a throne
Another world and all alone"

Beautiful phrasing throughout Sy ... (I'm with JM ... it's hard to pick a favorite couplet, but I forced myself, lol) Very much enjoyed!

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

This sounds so wonderful, Sy...
For some reason, it reminds me of a long soak in a warm tub.
