The Shores of Alone

Go back-such age is not of me
caricature of used to be
never would I become this bent
to order of establishment.

I still see flowers in my hair
without my glasses,they are there!
My love is free and wanted, too
please say happy days are not through..

I wear my peasant blouse sans bra
a least I did in times gone far
too bad it cannot stay the same
it looks like dreams were only games.

I still believe in peace, not war
but then again, I find I'm for
eliminating tyranny
but how to do, and still be free?

Please let me start over again
I'd surely do it better then.

Ah such regret. You may be the only one here consistently sadder than I. And as such I can offer no advice, just condolences.

Excellent write here Sandra...
and I know where you're coming from
with my birthday being yesterday...
I pondered a lot of these same thoughts.
Yet, in my head I'm still that young woman
in peasant dress, with a daisy chain in her hair.
Have a wonderful birthday sweet lady.
Peace!!

An excellent write, Sandra...
I think we all have feelings like this from time to time, but I know that I would never want to be in my twenties again...except for the health thing...
otherwise, I feel much happier as a grandma.
I hope you do too...
and...I sure hope that you have a wonderful birthday

How I love your writing ... it comes from the deepest parts of you.  Oh, what I'd do to create happiness in your depths.

The pictures you draw are stunning and true-to-life.

Hey, you. Have a *happy* birthday, not a morose one. Sometimes, thoughts can get in the way of living. Believe me, I know too well. :p

introspective. . . yes. . . I see it. . .

looking back with regret. . . or looking back in amber. . . I wonder where those came from. . .

anyway. . . remember that you've gone this way for a reason. . . and that now, it's time to keep walking. . . and that the heart always knows. . .

Happy Birthday my friend. . . there will be more. . .

I do believe Sven pretty well nailed it.

It is certainly OK to look back,   but we
should also look forward at the same time
using our past as a learning tool....
