Standing alone
Within a crowd of strangers
Silence overwhelming

Words spoken on deaf ears
Falling upon the polished floor
Trampled by dark soles
Unheard

Screaming through my mind
Into the darkness of a dream
Born upon the night air

Love me,  love me as I am
For I am all that I will be
Or can

Accept me,  my mistakes
Ignore the plaudits and rave not of me
For I am but just a man
Of common blood
And heart.

Born naked to the world
Into the arms of a mother’s love
Growing through trials
And tragedies

Now aged,  soul bared before me
Asking only that I be seen
As I am…..a common man
Born naked to the world.
Growing still….

Listening to every heart

To examine one's soul is
not an easy thing to do...
this, I know...
don't hold the magnifying glass
too close,
especially if you are using sunlight
by which to see...

well done, Sir...

Barry

"Love me,  love me as I am
For I am all that I will be
Or can"

There is anguish in this cry...some men would be afraid to show...to me, the turth of your words, makes you a better man.

"Common"? I think not.
But the way you are and who you are seems perfect to me.

Barry - a most heartfelt write you have done. To be loved as one is, a treasure if it were to be, a lovely treasure. You know I know this well. The best to you...

I like the way that I can put "I am" before every one of the lines. . .

great work Sir. . .
