As my thoughts return to spring,
warmth, sunshine, and birds in sing,
overwhelmed by Spring's sweet song,
I smile and turn my pc ON.

"I must record these thoughts of glory--
the wonderment of Nature's story!"
Clicking keys in rhythmic trust-
my words unfurl of Springtime's lust.

Suddenly, without a clue,
my screen became deep shade of blue.
"Egads! and Drat! Oh no!" I cry.
For on my screen was one word: "sigh."

A SIGH??? Methinks it can't be true!
then three more words: "I love you."
Surely this must be a joke!
Then I jumped back--my pc SPOKE!

"Of course I love you," said pc.
"I wish you'd write a poem for ME.
We've been together for a year.
I've wept with you each single tear.

Yet every word, you write for HIM.
You think that crash was just my whim??
I have a heart like all good folk!
The night I crashed? My heart...just...broke."

"But," I typed, "this just can't be.
You have no heart. You're a machine!"

"I can't believe you'd be so cold,"
cried pc, "you have no soul!"

The screen was fading--fading fast.
"Please don't go," I typed, "come back!"
"Say you're sorry" as screen went black.
"I AM!" I typed, "it's ME that lacks!"

All my words I then recanted.
"I'm sorry I took you for granted."
"Say you love me..." warned pc.
"Then write a poem just for ME!"

"I love you! And? I WILL be true!"
PC? This poem's just for YOU.

I should have seen it all along.
Somehow? I turned my pc ON!!!!

serenity

you tickled me with this...and made me think twice about some of the names I've called my PC.  You have a great funny sense...should help keep you computer smiling.  Hugs, Mrs blaze.

I remember this one...I remember what I thought when I first read it, too...
but then I got to know your PC...
and now I just smile...

Karen...I truly enjoyed every word of this piece.  I laughted all the way through.
They say that laughter is the best medicine.
Thanks so much for today's dose...
and...for the lesson.
We must never take our computers for granted because they do have hearts and souls.
I hope that mine loves me as much as yours loves you.

serenity blaze - brought to my mind some of the dastardly words I've called my PC. Can't be repeated here. But at times it also speaks to me, as yours does to you...
