Lay gathered there as so much lint, their destiny is not in tomes.
Appearance gives us little hint, who has those pocketsful of poems.
On crumpled sheet's been tossed and turned, the words often in disarray,
the rumpled thoughts of "Everyman", a pen and paper ink display.

I often wonder as I go about my daily business now,
which people that I've yet to know, might share with me this fate somehow.
The wanderlust of thoughts condensed, on paper given their new home,
and might this not to some make sense, to have a pocketful of poems?

With words crossed out and letters smudged, the rough drafts of their deepest thoughts.
Unworthy, they themselves have judged, most likely written all for naught.
And so remain unread in clothes 'til wash machine with lots of foam
destroys so many more of those great tales in pocketsful of poems.

If not for being indiscreet, ask people on the streets we roam,
"Are you that happy we did meet, or's that a pocketful of poems?"

Smiling widely...and just an observance...
the poems will last longer...
smiling bigger still...

guilty as charged--smiling

on cocktail napkins and yellowed notebook papers, and some paper that is rather questionable.

I love your work, Doc. I am looking forward to seeing some free verse from you! (nan's workshop yanno) hugs to ya...

(big hugggssssss) Oh William, I know just what you mean, sometimes there are many people we meet on the streets and so many stories to share yet many see to be in the wrong place and metaphorically are washed away in the laundry while other times we wish we had that pen in our back pocket when we regretedly don't have it! (sigh) This is excellent, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet William, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Doc

This whimsy has much truth...although my pocket full of poems is mostly in my head, I enjoyed this tremdously!
