Jammin'

This time of year brings sweet to taste
clinging barely to vines of green.
Before the birds devour more,
I'm quick to jam, the purple scene.

Pots and pans and ladles three
bubbling, boiling, toiling I.
Sugared down, jelled and jarred
replacing last years jam supply.

Counting minutes to the chime,
stealing licks between the beat.
Jammin' leads my lips to taste
the purpled substance, gooey sweet.

Finally the last was filled
with mess to clean, and lights to out.
Just one more day of crushing grapes
when tomorrow comes about.

Maur,
Puleeeze tell me that you washed your feet
first
before you stomped them poor, innocent grapes!!

This poem was too cool, Sis.
Bravo for sticking to it,
Grape job on the poem!  er great

Thanks Moondust...these are concord grapes..my neighbor  doesn't do anything with them  so I can have as  much as I want. *s made 26 jars yesterday and last year made 70..but I have  half of them still left so I won't make as much this year...
