In Cameo's Refrain

In mirrors glance, distorted I
whose lines of aging walk the face.
Overcast emotions guide,
a cameo of loves disgrace.

To test the time of never was
remorsing all the want to be.
Depressed by time that left its mark
betrayed by mind, the sane of me.

Catching shadows in the dark
as thunder reigns, its strike is heard.
My secrets buried, layered deep
in thoughts desired, need deferred.

Hear my words, the tune they play,
a saddened beat, in rhythm drain.
The myst has reached its fatal touch
I'm always there, in my refrain.

Phantom me in moonlight's full
each passing brings a sliver less,
until the crescent disappears
and I reside in dark caress.

M

Maureen darling heart this is exquisite writing, you have a way of making your words dance in measured steps and stately grace down the page. Truly perfectly presented and beautifully written, I love this one it is exceptionally good.

Wonderful writing darling heart utterly utterly wonderful

Thy coolness and they balm

Maureen, again you speak of my heartfelt thoughts. Amazing how much we all have in common, isn't it.
This is so well done, and the use of "cameo", perfect..
