Oh, Bring to me thy kisses ever sweet
and strew thy roses always at my feet
Thou must not steal my joy, nor thrust away
No, keepest close to you my love each day.

Oh, yet I hear thou whisper in my ear
and feel my heart beat stronger as you near
for naught shall ever wrest my dream from me
tis you and I, as we were meant to be.

Oh, break the barricades that hold us back
thou art full strong enough to fill this lack
with touches that set fires in my soul
magical hands, such I have never known.

Leave not my knight, slay all dragons for me
for every sentiment I find in thee.

That is so beautiful, Sandra...
I was just thinking about how much it reminded me of Barry's poetry...and lo and behold...there is a reply from him.
I think you two culd write a lovely duet together.

Very strong willed ....
can feel the determination behind the flow of words.

Sounds like a sleeping dragon has awakened, I may have to bring my sword and shield out of the closet!!

Excellent!!

Ahhhh my dear I come to thee
to take away from tragedy
My heart doth hold thee well
I shant not let the fear dwell.

I come my love,  I ride the night
I come to thee,  I fear not fright
I shall be nigh to guard thy sleep
Fear not my love,  do not thee weep.

Love the poem Sandra........Duet
accepted .....  I await thee words
on silver wings of passion.....

Sandra,
So "Shakesperean" so beautiful of what love still exists in this "not so romantic" age.  But "true love" ascends beyond the centuries, and you have captured it all so beautifully.......as always.

Give me the days of old anytime when it comes to love.  You did yourself proud in this piece and it shows not only an understanding of days past but it shows that your poetry is growing.  You have made some remarkable achievements since I started reading your works and I am continually impressed at your seemingly desired ambition to grow in your poetic talents.  A read very much worth the "click" and one that shall inspire many thoughts as well.

Amen!  I love this... as always you and I wish for the same things, and I find myself sighing with your words.

Take care,

this just flows from the heart and onto the page. . . wonderful in rhythm and in words. . .

yes, there will be applicants. . . I just know it. . .
