I wanna curl into sleep,
a period at the end of your sentence.
I wanna break the clocks
so the house will remain silent.
I wanna dream in light
so the sun moves slowly across my bed.
I wanna drink the river
that's going to flow from your eyes.

I wanna taste the newness
of a day without spatter or spoil.
I wanna take this rag
and polish the water clean and smooth.
Redefine reflections,
bring out the eyes and mouths of questions.
I wanna polish the shadows
and place them in a pill in the sky.

Leaking white light, a fallen flag,
footprints mapped in soft gray dust.
Impact marks. Module gleam.
I wanna walk the moon with you.
Maybe we'll find a blanket space
to listen again to conversations
among the stars. A soap-bubble earth,
the ocean's blue-green eye.

Always winking in waves,
churning the light,
spelling the clouds in foam.
My love, let's share what we save;
let's never fight.
Let's make this moon our home.

What an idea
to polish water...
to slick the sheen
if you will...
yes...
what an idea...

Your gals' turn! Let's flood Open with polished water. Glad you both enjoyed. And wranx has now become a small deity just for coming up with such a phrase!

Will you go back in time and walk the moon with me on December 21, 1999? Solstice, full moon at its azimuth. Shining so bright, twilight spanned the whole night. And apparently I'm rhyming.

I love you, baby o' mine.

The loneliest words you'll ever know:
if only, if only it were so.

Your such a poet, baby. And the words are for you. I will gladly walk by your side.

I love you.

P.S. Please write that poem about the moon you started in the reply, baby. I'd love to see it.

yes
our old wranx can cook up the perfect words
so, it makes sense
the image man would step forth and run
with it
to the moon
and leave us
staring at our
empty paper.
a great matchup

Brian, sometimes, that blank page can be as blindingly white as the moon.

Wranx, I even wrote "Wranx" in caps in the title of this poem.
