First
    one
     then
      another,
stairstep tears
to mark  this  day.
As  the clock  begins
its run, chiming thoughts
flood me this way. Feeds the
drought, the emptiness, whetting
feelings flowing strong. Within this
heart, the day appears to empty tears of
memories' long. So this the last one to be felt,
to know it's over, said and done.  No more Augusts'
day the second,  what once was shared,  is now for one.

Powerful in every way!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,

Very creative and expressive piece.  I enjoyed it every step of the way.

Write from the soul and the words will flow

Maureen, I like the way you formatted this sad, but well written poem.  Wish I knew how to do that stuff. LOL

Congrats to you, Maureen! (and I pretty much no longer exist on icq except for certain nights where I'm talking to Lori ... sorry about that!)

Mike...thanks for  being so nice when I really needed it..I know you are busy with your personal life...makes me happy to  think about someone happy..if that makes any sense to you...hugsss

Barry, Thank you for understanding...it's strange when a day that has been celebrated  for 30 years has no meaning to one partner...but it was expected...and next year will have no meaning to me.
