standing on a shadow's lace

Ruin Runs Thick

there are many things in which I dread
locked in no path to passions bed
just letters written on prison walls
at times no ink just blood in scrawls

a heart that beats against the brick
in thin you find ruin runs so thick
from running fast and standing still
seems to pour through cuts trust won’t fill

hope finds no clear place to enter in
too much, too tender beneath my skin
and you speak of where flowers grow
but beyond these walls no blooms show

just arms length of hands beyond my touch
and just one inch measures much
and still I swim to river wide
and drown in moon’s current tide

and suffer my lust beneath my dreams
another sacrifice given veined in my seams

Another piece for my library. Wonderful job, Helen!

Amazing, how time seeps in...
and runs the course
from red to blue...

I am impressed.  I look forward to reading more of your writing.  I just made it back from an absence and missed this place.
Great read.
