Whispering winds caress the trees
as gentle rain falls from the leaves.
An eagle’s cry pierces the dawn,
startling the sleep of a young fawn.

Whistle shrill echoes round the bend
down the rail of steel long and thin.
Smoke from the stack billows high
as clouds drift across a blue sky.

See the meadow of the forest green.
Such a picture, peaceful, serene.
Dance to the tune of buzzing bees.
Whispering winds caress the trees.

Hear the call of the waking owl
sitting on a tree, solitary scowl.
Feel the flow of life giving air
fluttering lids, soft flowing hair.

See the mountain, majestic, proud
in slumber beneath snow capped shroud.
Fuel the fire of night for romance.
Sing a lover’s tune as two slow dance.

A beautiful word painting, Barry...
This sounds like a place I would love to hang out...

I enjoy nothing more than being outdoors in quiet forests...daydreaming...the sights, smells, and sounds seem so much more distinct. Some lovely images to dwell on here.
