Parrot Tongue
By: Noah Eaton
8/1/02

She walks the white beaches with pearl toes
Her hair curses with static and sunshine wherever she goes
She murmurs merengue from her sexy parrot tongue
Singing Latin serenades from her conga drum lungs

She screams like a siren
She's much more than just some chicken of the sea
She wears white shoulders
And she rises from the ocean like Aphrodite
Shes goes with the flow
She's one with the undertode
Watch as she goes with the flow
She'll go, she's going, she'll put on a show

She's laughs like a flamingo but cries like a dolphin joyfully
The sea foam is her pillow wherever she sleeps
I am the ocean that cradles her when she's dreaming
Like a tuna fleet the sweetness is always fleeting

She walks the white beaches with pearl toes
Her hair curses with static and sunshine wherever she goes
She murmurs merengue from her sexy parrot tongue
Singing Latin serenades from her conga drum lungs

I stand on the floating dock
Eating cajun catfish and watching the tidepulls run amock
Watching my love bodydive with seaweed in her hair
Swaying her hips gently like the mermaid princess she is so fair
Shes goes with the flow
She's one with the undertode
Watch as she goes with the flow
She'll go, she's going, she'll put on a show

She walks the white beaches with pearl toes
Her hair curses with static and sunshine wherever she goes
She murmurs merengue from her sexy parrot tongue
Singing Latin serenades from her conga drum lungs

"Underneath your clothes there's an endless story..."

Shakira

wonderful use of imagery and theme here Noah
unique as well.

Tell me we belong together
Dress it up with the trappings of love
Ill be captivated, Ill hang from your lips
Instead of the heartache from above

swirling soft, like a sea breeze at night
around her splayed hair, until first light
love larger than an ocean, river or sea
for where my love goes, you will always find me

Some of your most beautifully structured words, yet, Noah.
Truly outstanding poetry that obviously you thought much about.
It shows, and it was wonderful!

Until tomorrow

Lovely Noah, as all you write is....I never tire...

I lean against the wind pretend I am weightless and in this moment I am happy

How I would love to steal that opening line, noah!

"She walks the white beaches with pearl toes"

exquisite, sweet noah.

Oh Noah, there are so many lines in this poem that jump off the page into my heart. Gosh, this is fabulous.

I love this:
'...She murmurs merengue from her sexy parrot tongue
Singing Latin serenades from her conga drum lungs...'''
