Last Night

I heard the sound of echoes cast
A misty round of long gone past
Searching out the hollow spheres
Whispering whispers in my ears

Sending clouds to act as rune.
Graving out the hours noon
Shading all the flowers frill
Lending tremors cold of chill

The echoes echoed memories had
The good, faded and some of sad
But all hung over the abyss
Where lies the hooded angels kiss.

And there in pucker waits the groom
The silence of the finished loom
A shroud that wraps around the light
And brings the final sleep of night.

Where once again the shuttle cock
Will race across new threads in lock.

I think I see the him that was
this man whose thoughts give us all pause
he weaves a wend and then again
he spells his cast for us to bend

and wanton, we, who come to see
the magic of his mystery

Quite fine, and those last two lines...great wind-up!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

with a bent finger, crooked
he beckons with a smile allure
invade my dreams, spread thin and sweet
converge on avenues, there we'll meet
Dreams
Sleep
and the bat of night
who walks when others
shut out the light
