it is your beauty, it denies
when you let yourself be deceived
by the mirror's veil of disguise
that only you, ever believed

but how you're viewed through other's lives
will tell how you really appear
not the myth the mirror contrives
that's built on your self-doubt and fear

deceptions, in your mirror's lies
can not alter what I have seen
like your reflection, that my eyes
finds beautiful beyond my dreams

when your mirror shows otherwise
changing the image you perceive
just remember, the mirror lies
but my vision you can believe.

Thank You All,
Though this is not "really" my first post, it is the first new poem I have written in almost two years and I appreciate the warm words of welcome from all of you.
I look forward to reading some of the "new faces" as well as those with whom I am already aquainted. I'll be putting in my two cents whenever possible, so beware.*wink*
