~Wisps of Illusion~

On the edge of awake, it bleeds fast
into my pillowslip
along with the stain of my tears

so real, this fantasy
played darkly on nightscreen brain
A sensible parable
or so I thought

Mindless morning cobwebs
strands of amnesiac haze
slip it into oblivion
twirling the scenes
senseless

I try to explain, but cannot
they slip away fast from my tongue
these tangled pieces of think
becoming feathery scraps of nonsense
wisps of illusion
no longer recalled
~

Must be somewhat, a product of the night...cause I understand this perfectly.  Sometimes, my head just won't 'turn off'.  Makes for restless nights but also some interesting poetry...lol.  Like this!

One of the best things Ron ever did was allow pics to come into play with our poetry...our words go a long way...the focus of what caused the words, or what inspired them to come into play...simply make the meal a FEAST!  Yes, Madame C....I'm liking this...

Doesn't this just drive you 'nuts?' Sure can relate to this.

The picture is perfect with your words. Seems like the two were just made for each other. I enjoyed reading this, but then I love reading all your poems.

Hugs, Marti

Amazing what our minds do with our thoughts
conscious or not....sometimes coming out in
senseless scenes that mean little or nothing.

Well said, Madame Chippermunch.....

These dreams so confusing melt away too quickly to be analyzed, but we try to discern their meaning and we should. Have one from last night I'm trying not to let go. Enjoyed

As an amateur guitar player, I find that from time to time, in my dreams, everything that I want to play, I actually can...and the answer is there, for sure ~ "That is how to play that!" So easy, but then upon awakening, the answer alludes me, yet again.

I have been reading your poetry for over a year now I do so believe, and I can easily see how much you have progressed, for the better, in your writings.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this piece.

Thanks so much, Duncan...
My brain usually turns off okay, but the problem is that I wake up in the middle of the night and it turns back on and then won't turn off again...
but this is really written about my annoying inability to remember my dreams....which is made even more annoying by remembering fragments of them.

Thanks Brian...and that is a wonderful idea.
Can you actually read your handwriting in the morning?
I probably wouldn't be able to because I can scarcely read what I've written when fully awake.
Perhaps I should keep my computer by my bed.
I think my husband would probably hate that idea, though.

It does drive me crazy, thats why I wrote the poem.
I always think I can remember the dreams, but when I try to explain them, gibberish seems to come out of my mouth.

I must say that this is one part of human nature which I cannot understand.
If we were given the capacity to dream, why were we not given the capacity to remember them...especially since dreams are supposed to serve an important purpose....
but, I guess thats why poetry was invented.

Thanks so much, Barry...and I think that what you say is true...
Even if a dream is nonsensical...which most of them are,  it usually has an occult meaning.  We just have to be smart enough to figure it out.

Sometimes illusions are easier to deal with than real life. I often wish that some parts of my life, were only dreams...maybe they are but they have become nightmares.

Lyra,

I can lay in bed at night and think of some of the best poems. But when I get up I think they stayed in bed because I can`t find them. TAKE CARE!

Maybe your poems don't do mornings
or maybe they stay in bed so that they can dream up other poems.
