For One Sorely Missed

There is never one day that passes
That I do not think of you.
My heart is full with your memory.
Never have I forgotten you.

I may have tried to bury you
But those dried leaves of Autumn
Were not heavy enough; frail
And insubstantial, they were
Quickly windblown and scattered…
In my mind, my heart, my soul
You were all that mattered.

And though I tried to steel
My shattered heart, whose
Flesh soon hung in tatters
And now which bears the scars
Of you, it just couldn’t protect
Itself, divest itself of love of you.

And a permanent winter
With desolate, frozen snows
Is set upon the fields of my heart
For always missing you…

For missing you
The way that I do.

This is bleak but beautiful... it aches and pulls the reader into a life that goes on when the vitality is gone... great write!

I could feel the heartache and yearnings here.  Strong emotions portrayed, Furie.

Bleak write, but some days are like this, some weeks, months, years also
Keth

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

suthern - thank you for your comments and encouragement on this piece.

Loner, thank you as well.

severn - it is not always this way, when I mangage to pull myself from the past to the present.  Maybe someday this time of mine, like yours, will be gone.  Thank you.

Kethry - Sometimes "bleak" can be cleansing, sterile, like the emptiness left behind after the purging of self-poisoning of over indulgence.  Thank you for your comment.
