“PICTURE FRAME LOVER”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
One or too many miles,
doesn’t matter to me…
I’m here, you’re there,
still you that I see…
It’s been a long time,
since I held you close…
Whispers to know you,
are now only echoes…
Found your lost photo,
made it fit just right…
Now I can look at you,
each and every night…
Be back before long,
to make it better…
For now I touch only,
my picture frame lover…
I love the way you framed this poem, Bill.
After my first husband died, I found a talking picture frame at Radio Shack and I put his photo in it....but I couldn't get his voice recorded off of any of our videotapes...finally I recorded his old phone message from work (which was still on his work phone) and now every time I want to hear his voice, I hear his phone message
A clever poem, Bill! For whatever held onto this picture frame is eternal memories.
This was very touching and it was a poem that I, like many others it seems, can relate too.
I like this very much, Bill... and you're right... Whether they're far away and seldom seen or just down the street with only a few hours since parting... a picture lets the eyes focus on the one who fills the heart... and that somehow makes the time until the next meeting better. *S*
