One early workday morning
when the Owl was flying home
and the dawn can make ya wonder
I suddenly came to know.
You were my special flower
in the greenhouse of my soul
and beyond some darker hours
Once again I'd watch you grow.

Chorus:
Now everytime I look around
I see you growing leaps and bounds
and everytime you call my name
I hear love in your voice again
and when I see you in the evening hours
the sun sets on time that's ours
old lovers sharing better days.

In the drive to work for freedom
many long nights I left you alone
I couldn't see your heart receeding
while I was far away from home
but I thought we were so together
so I didn't feel your grief
and you got lost behind my cover
while I was fading from the scene

Bridge
When the phone lines joined us up
the conversation spiraled down
and the love that once bound us
was starting to shatter all around

In my struggle to keep winning
I overlooked your worst fears
but the need for a new beginning
somehow unfolded bold and clear
cause we were more than bedroom lovers
before my world of needs appeared
So on a bridge across disaster
I crawled back to you in tears.

Chorus:
Now everytime I look around
I see you growing leaps and bounds
and everytime you call my name
I hear love in your voice again
and when I see you in the evening hours
the sun sets on time that's ours
old lovers sharing better days.

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

Eric

The way you hang a story from the heart is amazing....and then you fix it into lyrics so fine that I'm doing back up because I hear the tune.
