You pleaded with me to stay
Just a few more days, daddy
It always comes way too soon
But it's right on time, again
I pulled up to the red light
In the "left turn" lane
The rain had just started to fall
Fitting for the mood, I guess

I've taken this trip a few dozen times
It gets harder and harder to make
The tears that roll down your face
The ones that lack understanding of
Why I can't stay with you
They tear me apart inside

I watch as the drops hit the window
You pulled up on my right, in a car
The one with your new family in it
I lost view of everything but you
You had your little "Tweety Bird" shirt on
The one with that you played in today

I had no expression on my face
I guess that's how I get when
The pain is just a bit too much
You made your mommy roll the window down
So you could tell me you loved me just
One more time, then you blew me a kiss
That I felt in my heart

The light turned green, I made my left
You had to go straight, away from me
I had to turn away from you
I couldn't let you see that my heart
Was breaking

I didn't want you to see me cry

Today was the last day that I got to see my little girl. I have only been away from her for three hours now, but it feels like eternity.

A bird never flies so high that it can't hit the ground

This is so sad. I hope you get to see her again soon.

Kris,
You're killing me
A heartrending thing, this.

Man, that's a harsh bummer.

What is life without poetry and adventure?
"Little sister" is just another way of saying "Guardian Angel"!

(BIG HUGGGSSSSSS) Oh Kristopher, this about broke my heart reading this because it is so sad yet it is sooooooo beautiful! (sad sigh) You have one of the most loving hearts I have ever known out of anyone your age, and I know with such a big loving heart like yours you are bound to see your daughter Josie again and again and she will always be blessed even when you're away to have such a special loving brother...you! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, I am always here if youneed someone to talk to, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Kristopher, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I don't know anything more beautiful than the love of a parent for a child... and this painful piece is filled with that love. In a way, it's heartbreaking... being apart always is. But in another, it's heart warming... for your love for her is something she can depend on... and your arms will be forever open for her.
