For my daughter Sami...  After The Summer's Gone We were one with each other for a short season For a while we breathed everything these hills held for us Inside it all were moments the night saved for safe keeping Oh, if only these evergreens could talk... Among the grasses our feet graced the fields in spread Our laughter lies in those lillies standing tall We embraced every bit of what summer had to offer And, found a families rhythm out there in it all... I'm here to watch all that just whither away Alone and after the summer is gone Greens to browns as the next chill will erase all we made And, I will only have the fall leaves to rely on... In their break to freedom as the winds release them Will lie my proof all over this ground Dull like colors to prepare me for a long winters cry And, once again, I will witness summer drown... If only those roses could hold onto what they viewed As they watched me out there loving you I ache that my walk through falls early light Will find our voices still heard there in the night... I'm about to hear falls lonely song About to lose heart once the summer's gone I need a little of her so I don't lose me So, God, can you lend me lillies through the leaves?...  (tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Saunni, this is so very sad, sweet freind, my heart goe sout to you and I know how much you love your daughter but I know with allo my heart if you love her with all your heart you are bound to see each other again so much more and she will always give you lilies of happy times to share!
