somebody's dungeon

There is an art to listening
a special detection
of the silent screams
that plague the heart and mind
of the people
that make up our world.

A quiet way of relating
of touching the feelings
of another
whose broken edges
may be scraping away
at their self.

This art, the art of listening
can't be learned
or taught,
but only mastered
along with the ability
to walk the life
another's shoes may tread

Few I know,
but many I love
listen as I scream
and my story
somehow
in the din
is heard.

WhiteRose

(big hugggsssssss) Oh yes, yes, I believe listening is the most important sense of all, and listening is not only important by ear but also to the heart and if we listen we are bound to find much more happiness and trust amongst our peers! (sigh) This is powerful wisdom, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Anne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Now see, there is the difference between people...
some are screamers, and some...whisper
and I find whispering just draws them closer,
because if they really want to know, they will lean forward...
otherwise, what I have to say wasn't meant for their ears after all...

thank you for this, White Rose...

Seeing is as important as listening.Pay attention to body language.People say a lot with facial expressions. The eyes are truely the window of the soul.We learn more when we listen than when we speak.

I truly enjoyed this poem, Anne...
I think listening is an important skill which has been terribly underrated.
It should probably be taught in a class somewhere...right along with assertiveness training.
Keep posting...and I will look for more of your work.
