My head is mostly empty Can’t think of a thing to say. No muse is my only excuse. Still, I’d like to write a good poem. So I’m taking time to read “how to” write correct poetry But, it’s nearly driving me insane! The do’s and don’ts are so mundane What about let it flow? That’s about all I know. At this point, La la la la la sounds good to me Oh, maybe the part about Make each line DO something Will stick in time. Maybe I’ll even learn the correct way To rhyme. For now, I’ll just enjoy the fun of it all, reading other poets who KNOW And those that don’t, And are just like me All we really want to do is have fun, And let it flow. BloomingRose |

Hello Debra I'm with you......just let it flow! I don't have any specific formula for how I write and for all I know am probably doing it all wrong. I am merely an amateur but my words and the words of others always bring me comfort and inspire me to write more. The most important thing I have found is that the words come from the heart and soul, in the way you are most comfortable. Take care......Sue I am in motion |
