I am so tired of bugs
From the fleas in my rugs
To the mites in my poor kitties' ears.
It seems wherever I turn
There's some larva or worm...
For some reason, it's much worse this year!

Love bugs mess up my car
I can't go very far
Without stopping to scrape my windshield
And need tweezers to pick
Off a colony of ticks
Every time the dog runs through a field.

Mosquitoes' symphonic whine
Drives me out of my mind
Knowing I'm targeted for their meal.
Chiggers get fat and thrive
As they eat me alive -
All in all, humans get a raw deal!

Aphids gnaw on my flower beds
And it's tough to make fresh bread
When the pantry becomes home to weevils.
If I turn on a light
In the depths of the night
Moths attack like some creatures of evil!

And then there's the flies
And the gnats at your eyes
And vicious wasps, hornets and bees.
The chinch bugs chomp my yard
It is really quite hard
To find a place that's bug free!

Butterflies flip their wing
For I can't do a thing
Except scream as a roach scurries past.
With no-see-ums in tents
Camping trips are hell sent -
Just how long will this invasion last?

I cry uncle as ants
Somehow crawl up my pants
With only one mission: to bite!
Every insect I kill
Has his place quickly filled
It's obvious I'm losing this fight!

Losing the fight?
No need to fear,
It'll be alright,
If you'll call Balladeer...

Great poem...

LOL ... funny you should mention it...
I was just doing some "whining" of my own...
every time I go out to water my flowers I become a mosquito buffet. I guess the bugs are our payback for all the pollution we cause. Mother Nature's sense of humor that leaves us scratching instead of laughing.
Cute and clever timely rhymes Ruth-girlie,
Like Toe, as I read this I was thinking this ones got Balladeers name all over it
OH...and sorry about my mothy friends...I'll tell them to leave ya be

I guess we could all learn persistence from the wee ones that bug us

Enjoyed the humorous look!

Suthern hi there, Oh no not bugs, and as for snakes, keep them away from me. I’m about snakes as mum is to flying, I can’t even walk past them when they are in a cage that has foot thick glass walls.

This is a wonderful poem, mum pointed me in your direction, she said you were a good writer and she’s never wrong about that. There are so many writers here that sometimes I need mum to point out the very special ones. Which you obviously are, I can’t wait to meet you in September, it is going to be the best time ever

Love and warm stuff
As always

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Suthern, I know just how you feel, sweet friend, I hate mosquitoes and flies because they can have diseases and I just want to be safe from illnesses! (sigh) This is wonderfully expressed, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Suthern, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

LOL! But it isn't at all funny! Why do we have to have all these nasty bugs?

'...Mosquitoes' symphonic whine
Drives me out of my mind
Knowing I'm targeted for their meal...'

In my neck of the woods, these are the worst! My husband and I just got back from our walk by the river and I can feel the bites swelling as I type. Shortly I'll be scratching and scratching.

This was a great write - I enjoyed it but sure do hate those darn bugs and insects.
Hugs, Marti

Poor Suthern girl! Those poor little bugs are so tiny and yet they evoke so much hatred! You should be used to microscopic things, having spent time with Toerag

If it gets really bad, I DO make mouse calls, yanno?

Besides, they're attracted to sweet things. Take it as a compliment!

hmmmm...this poem may bug me into making a poem of my own...

Sven: It wasn't much fun when it kept "bugging" me as I was trying to sleep! LOL Thank you very much... glad you enjoyed! *S*

Krissy: I'm not fond of snakes, either... especially after a snake bite almost killed my farm cat earlier this summer. Thank you very much... your "special" just made my day. *S*

M'toe: I'm so glad you enjoyed! *S* Thank you very much!

NewEngland: Thank you very much! *S*
Calamine is no help, it just turns me pink
And Benadryl puts me to sleep
I'd stay inside, but I honestly think
Bugs would still find ways to make me weep!

Bal: No, no, NO!!!! Heaven knows, I don't need mice, too! LOL And it's hard to feel complimented when you're being disfigured by itchy welts. LOL Write on, Deer One... I'll be waiting to read! *S*

Bill: They're everywhere, aren't they? LOL Thanks for reading!
