Listening to every heart

0 posted 2002-07-24 08:52 PM

Noon Coolers

Writers of vast prairie sage
Meet to share the printed page
These chattering nom de plumes
Then gather in the common room
They come to listen to the silk
Voice of one who shares the milk
Of hopes and dreams within the story
Of past lives now shared in glory
Oh! These weavers of the plains
Like the humans who came to tame
All of life and of the ground
So gather close, now gather ‘round…

For they shall pen, and you shall hear
Of life, and war, and hearts held dear…

~*~

*Noon Coolers…a weekly meeting this month of July to meet authors and hear them talk about their past and current books, why they do it, and how.

(smiles) WOW!!! Oh my gosh, I hope you have a blast at that special meeting, sweet friend, one time I actually met Joseph Hutchinson at my school, who is a widely-known modern poet who actually was running for laureate one time! (sigh) I can't wait to hear what you have to say about that, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Will this verse be included somewhere among the formalities? It has spirit and depth and whimsy, great rhythm, rhyme and all the qualities of good poetry.. I'll just stay here and read you.

Reg

I agree with Reg, Karilea...
In fact...it should be the introductory remarks of the meeting.

Karilea

I want a noon cooler...sounds like an exotic drink...but I'm sure it's better than that.
