Although it may very well be
a torch that guides your way
towards the portals of light
It is certainly your horizon
that the dark clouds of fate
will often attempt to obscure
Much like the morning star
is dependent upon the onset
of dawn over each skyline afar
It is the shadows of deception
you will choose to leave behind
that become the beacons of hope
to brighten the paths you endure
Bide not your time together
staring deeply into the sun
only to make yourselves blind
to all of the majestic beauty
existent within the infinite sky
As you walk along side the shore
on the pond of elegant memories
let not the droplets of tears
ripple the crystal reflections
when time comes for you to cry
To open wide your minds to life
extending your bounds from the past
it is only then you will realize
that marriage really has given you
the eyes to see and the wings to fly

Staring into the sun just makes you blind to what beauty actually exists in the sky.

Thanx Noah, I really appreciate your kind words and willingness to accept me into your heart as part of a family. I actually wrote this for my aunt in New Mexico that is marrying in October and asked me to write a poem for her and her Fiancee. I think she will like it since it is not overly mushy or anything.

nice!!

although i still believe in the commitment even though it has been a joke to me, i must tell you the difference between a wedding and a funeral is one less drunk, and i laugh as i say that reading your lovely words knowing that somehow, somewhere, some time when you least expect it, somebody will walk up to you and say

SMILE!

there's nothing candid about this!!

we've got the whole frigging scenario on film!!!! better pretend yer happy!!

teehee

*grin

and allthat rot

watch out!!! i might throw the bouquet, too...

just ask my wife, kathie, she'll tell you all about it

it was a heckuva scene in 19whatever...
