Was it the touch that turned me different?
The gaze from unseen faces, watching from a land of imprisonment
Leaching their disease on the particles of my reality
Imitating, mimicking small parts of my day
To appear normal, but turn distortedly to the side of evil

Voices; voices, do I hear them? Or do they lie in a corridor?
Echoing and piecing my realm of peace, my sanctuary of sanity
I close my eyes to wash this gaze of imagery
The inner eye transfixed on pain, on suffering and horror

The platform of sanity falling around me, or just an illusion?
Have I been poisoned by an entity, by something hiding, waiting?
I’m always cold, each breath is heaving for life, a weight pushes so heavily
No one visits; I alone meet the misery that takes me as hostage

Turned from a life, at the crossroad of ill fate, toward lifeless lure
Where satin reins, where no God protects the innocent
Where a lost soul becomes more lost, is violated and invaded
Possessed to join more others; leaches sucking the life from innocence

Then to join the moments which turn into years
Time, but just a part of evils handiwork
The innocent, falling at the alter of vile, taken and driven to madness
Till death does come, and the joining of many more
To go bump in the night, to scare and to haunt

See, not everything has to rhyme. Started out with an excellent line RIck.

This is well written, but a bit on the spooky side. Things that go bump in the night are merely illusions of fear.
Lets hope for sunshine in the morning!

Probably not what you meant, but I was seeing someone slowly degenerate into insanity. I have been hearing too much bad news lately.
Excellent write, Rick.

Oops...Sunshine came...in time to delve onto the dark side of the moon, to see where the spirits live, to see that all needs to be dark, now and then, just to have balance...

well done, Sir...
