Thorny Garden

let me show you a secret
where things trellis upright
a thorny garden
fine mixed grouping
of lifetime friends
among sticks and stems
clear viewed beauty
echoed bouquets of romance
climbing elegance
next to thorns and leaves
fragrant sun guided structure
oozing classic splendor
bathed in breathtaking simplicity
fresh blooms lace the air
hiding nothing
in sunlit growth
climbing and reaching
for your touch
a romantic bouquet
of precious future memories
where faded blooms
are pressed in your heart

seems I'm not the only one thinking of pressed flowers these days. Lovely writing, helen.

Love is patient, indeed. It endures the distance when it seems we cannot endure it ourselves.
