Moved from a shack to a barn

What Now?

I’m starting to think
that I may be hiding out
Here in this shack
on this river

I start to believe
that I may be complacent
within this peace
in this quiet

I try to remember
that once, I was reckless
out on a limb
on the fence

I shudder to think
that I like being alone
without my ghosts
to haunt me

What now?

hmmm...I was just talking about this with a friend...sort of. She said that wisdom comes with age, and I suggested that maybe we just get tired...I dunno...I've never done anything consistently enough to find out.

enjoyed the think of this read, wranx...

heavy thoughts wranx
but from previous posts
you seem to relish the new life.
might be some pauses for reflection
here and then,
but then happiness is the lighthouse
We want it's sound of grounded horn
but a little middle of the ocean
makes us appreciate it all the more.
as if that rambling made any sense...

Sometimes I get nostalgic too, and then I just think "Eh, there's plenty of time for nostalgia when yr dead."

I hate reliving the past, frankly.

But I did enjoy th' poem.

She said burn ... together.
