Like A Lovers Blanket

It is hard to realize
that it’s almost a year ago
since your last touch…
but…
even now
when I close my eyes
I can feel your fingertips
playing a tune
on my body
lovers music…
only heard by us.
I can taste your kisses
on my lips
and your scent is still
surrounding me
like a lovers blanket…

There are also nights
dark cold nights
that it’s hard to remember
all these things
and those nights
I fear the most
because
I am afraid
that time
will erase
all those memories
from my mind

So I wait for the next day
to see the sun
smiling at me again
while
the dark shadows
of a lonely night
are being chased away
by his first rays
as soon I feel his warmth
I close my eyes
and at that moment
I taste your morning kiss…
bringing back
my memories…

I once owned a little Fiat X19.I use to call the blanket I kept in the trunk my back seat.
