I’d like to be a fly on the wall
but if I could choose looks
I’d prefer to be a pretty butterfly
the thing is…
no one notices a fly on the wall
and just once
I’d like to see and hear it all
no more tittle-tattle behind closed doors!
if I were a pretty butterfly on the wall
I’d be seen
and someone would take my wings
if I were a butterfly with no wings
I'd end up a fly
designed by a swatter!
and I’d never learn a thing

Well, too late, your picture shows you to be a butterfly. Isn't a butterfly with no wings a caterpillar who still has her wings to look forward to?

I think perhaps your writing has given you wings.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

loner~ Thanks Just the rambling of one who wishes to be a spy of sorts...just kidding.

Sven~ Thank you. I'm glad.

Noah~ Always thanks my friend

Vas~ hmmmm in this case with no wings the butterfly would have been mistaken for a fly, and thus become one. A smashed one that is. ugh

Paul~ Thank you kind sir

This is so thought provoking, Deb...
If you were just a fly on the wall and no one noticed you, you could do plenty of eavesdropping...
I guess thats one advantage that flies have over butterflies...
but all in all, I would rather be a butterfly, because flies spread disease and butterflies are symbols of eternal life...
So I guess that butterflies are really the good guys.

mcafe~ Thanks

madame~ So true. Flies are disgusting.
For sure, I'd really rather be a beautiful butterfly. If of course I HAD to choose.
