With so much chaos each and everynight
To feel the good things is so hard for me to do
There was a time when he meant everything to me
Without him right here by my side, I feel so blue

He often complains about not being in good health
Never does he realize that the drinking doesn't help
If I say anything to him about all of the drinking he does
He gets so angry at me and leaves me by myself

After he gets finished with all of his accusations
And putting me down until I feel like a nothing
I withdraw a little more from him and live with such guilt
For not loving him the way I did in the beginning

If he should ever see what his drinking does to him
The things that he says to me that hurts me deep inside
I only hope that I can find the forgiveness that did abide
To give him another chance to make things alright

The memories of the good times sometimes I still see
Dancing around inside my head as if it were yesterday
When our love was still new and we shared those times
If only I could bring those times back and make them stay
