Word-Water Flowing
~*Marge Tindal*~

Spirits weeping ... count the tears
they've fallen here before ...
Along the trail of atrocities
from the land of nevermore
Slow moccasin prints mark the path
to ancient understanding~

Lead me to the mountain
through the valley of recall
Along the Trail of Tears
in fall
..in fall
......in fall~

There she stands in dress of white
brow of gentle scorn
Trying to bury the feathered past
in scalding tears of mourn~

When she weeps, I feel her tears
falling through me ...
I touch them on the cheek-of-remember
finding them still wet with Native blood ...

Down~
...down
.................down they fall
Then suddenly they rise ...
like thoughts that have taken wing~

And she was as word-water flowing
gifting me with the baptismal tears
that her gentle spirit brings~

~Dedicated to SuthernGal and Marti~
~A small gift from SkyeLara~

~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~

Margie girl darling sister of my heart and collector of moon’s shimmer this is extraordinarily good, you do know this flows like liquid light don’t you? It has the words entwined in a weave of unsurpassed beauty do I love it? You know I do. I think you’ve been treading the ways of memories yourself darling heart, and your muse has gifted you with such a gem here, truly awesome writing.

I’m left almost speechless ……… almost smile, you know I’m never silent for longer than a breathI just want to say this is superb writing, as always you bathe my soul in wonder when you write.

I wub you too

Word-Water Flowing

oh my. (I confess the title reminded me of that soft lightning imagery by Dark Stranger)
but not surprising since you both have native american leanings in expression...

and this? was like a twirl on the dance floor to read. You are so free and easy, lady.

Oh wow yes. The flow is beautiful and, coupled with the words, a meaningful cleansing. *s

You had to know that I wouldn't miss this one.  And as Walela would sing......."Wash Your Spirit Clean".  Much loved this piece and your dedication is just as sweet as the poem is.

Marge,
Very nice. I like these native poems.
