With a shake of hands
In graduation caps
They promised to remain true friends
But off they went
In directions different
Found their world at different ends

Joe could never
Sit still for long
His talent made everyone impressed
John took his time
Found peace in himself
And the words of his soul expressed

A family for Joe
A divorce or two
Always moving on to some other place
John kept looking
For that special one
To bring love to his heart, a smile to his face

Joe’s addictions became
His downfall one day
Alone and broke, let it slip from his hand
John found love
Wrote his poetry in peace
Living in harmony in a slow man's land

Poet Sir,
Liked your "take" on this challenge. In your story, I would be...Joe.

Interesting, don't you think, the way a phase or a kernel can spark different things?

Interesting - the two perspectives.

and did they think of each other...?

I believe they probably found the time,
each in his own slow man's way

(sigh) Aw, my heart goes out to him that he couldn't reach out to his love yet I am relieved that he found a pastoral place of peace within his words to express his thoughts until love finds a way! (sigh) This is well-said, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sharon, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Thank you Sharon, devina and squirrel dude,
for helping me avoid, yet another, well egged face. I'm starting to appreciate the whole "politically correct" gender neutral thing. (I'll be over in my corner, sorting things out)

Don't hurt me.
