Respectfully,
giving credit where credit is due,
it was Maureen who first mentioned these pages of blue,
she brought a small truck load of poets over time
so many many moons ago.

My friend Wilfred Yeats discovered the real value of friendship,
and with much happiness I watched him flourish,
gaining the respect he so deserved.
Both of them said to me at one time or another,
" Why don't you come on over here ~Sea~"
which was my handle for years before I started singing the blues.
Oh me!!

I came for the love of poetry first and foremost
and the gentle words of encouragement,
as I've always been a firm believer
that there is something nice to say about everyone's work,
which proves itself over and over again
on these pages that overflow with so many passionate hearts.

I came to interact and be a small part of it all.
I have heard countless times
"I only write for myself"
but if that were truly the case
it seems it would be easy enough to keep a journal
and read to ourselves beneath the shadow light of our mind
where poetry originates in the first place.

My only regret is that it took me so long to hit that post button
and believe that I might have something worthy to say.
I'm not a shy kind of gal
but I've been known to let my own self doubts
hold me back from time to time.
It is a circle of friends welcoming the dreams in our hearts
surrounded in a quiet peacefulness.
A place to discover some secret longings if we choose to seek
providing various answers to life's puzzle.

I have stayed because this is all very real
the feelings are magnified by the pouring out
of love and caring for one another in times of trouble
and shared happiness that is universal in each of our lives
conveying our sorrow and joy through written words.

I have learned to be intuitive, creative and sensitive
to the poetic hearts of others that stretches far and wide
reaching out across the miles to rest beside my own.
For this gift I thank each and every one of you
and I hope that I have given you something back in return...
For we cannot take unless we give of ourselves
and I am more than grateful just to be a part of it all!

That's my story~
THE END

I am newly acquainted with your works as I had quite a long absence but I am enjoying what I have been able to read of yours and look forward to reading many more.  And then of course, Wilfred ALWAYS knew talent and soul, so you have two points in your favor.  Talent and the word of someone I respected from the very first encounter.  Very nice to know your story and eloquently stated.

Lori,
And as for me...I am amazed by what you do. And how you've grown. I amazed by your courage and your tenacity. But especially I am blessed by your heart and your friendship. Seems the words are just a bonus! I like that.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Hi poptart~ I really appreciate your nice reply....thank you~

Helen~ I read what you said not too long ago about replies and such, "Not everyone likes the same thing"  I just wanted to tell you that little bit of insight has stuck with me.  Not only are we on limited time, but we all have our individual interests~~~~I am delighted to see you here.  Thanks so much!
