***The Dregs of Wall Street***

It bustles crazy at noon
ties and jackets hurry
in time with the clicking chorus
of high heels on pavement

restaurants peddle nourishment
aromas trail their savory stench
through lower Manhattan
onto the narrow side streets
up high into those corner offices

business meetings and beer
drive the gears of the nation's economy
tickertape tragedies...
Enron...Worldcom
grease the slimy wheels of scam
drawing themselves deeper
and deeper
down into the very bottom
of
the dregs of Wall Street
***

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Lyra, this is so very sad and true, sweet friend, I have never liked the capitalism of the world and am sickened by how those who hold the higher offices can hurt so many more by hiding the reports from all the lower employees, sweet friend, this is a powerfully aching poem, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

...'down to the very bottom'...

is certainly what's happening and it's all based on GREED! How many workers have lost not only their jobs, but everything, while the CEO's and CFO's are worrying that they might have to sell one of their 10 homes and sold their stock just before the bottom fell out and made millions? Grrr....this stuff makes me so darn mad.

Thanks for writing about it - you did it exquisitely. Hugs, Marti

Thanks Noah...
Everything you said is true...
I think that the people who are running these big corporations are not only the dregs of Wall St....
they are the dregs of society.
~ makes me sad to think about this hugs

Thanks for your reply, Marti...
Its sad, its horrible and most of all its selfish.
I cannot believe some of the behavior I have witnessed this year from some of the highest ranking corporate officers who work in those corner offices...
Its absolutely shameful.......
They are truly the dregs...
I cannot believe that these people have such high ranking positions  and that they are so unconscionably selfish.
