Pillows Of Compromise

awaking twisted
to a place of pain
on skin
and places untouchable
pillows of decision
and indecision
bent past compromise
in employment
and expectations
of a lifetime
roller coastered lullabies
rise and fall
in liquid dreams
dripping in sleep
crusted to dry
in morning
waking to
wondering
which is
the bad dream

I'd tell you to go back to bed
but I don't want you to have
another nightmare...Monday will be
over, soon....

h
I like to think that dreams are an asset and a benefit, but sometimes . . .
Funny thing, I awoke feeling like a twisted pretzel this morning.  Ouch.  But I don't remember an offending dream.
Enjoyed this Monday morning "blue" in any case.
