no one really feels the rythem
of ageless beauty fallen
on the steps for the temple of god
that few want to notice
she lays there, decending
into a world all her own
as though you could not see her
but the light of show must go
tears roll down her cheeks
waiting for heavens stars to see
how she has failed
and her mind has gone away
but only silence
an answer to her prayer
she smiles to the response
and gives her last breath.
laughter in the trees
surounding the body of her soul
that lingers for a moment
then walks with the sun
as the wind brings harmonies
of the trillion angels song
that falls on deaf ears
for the population lost
each moment raises a new question forms
what of this pain I feel
what of these tears
that no one else can see
hold me close to the winds embrace
let it take me to the mountains I face
hold me open like a last rainbow star
let me live without the pain I know.

Michael, this is beautiful, but I must confess,
when I saw "Icons of the Past" and knowing you are
from California, my first thought was,
Bob's Big Boy....

but you probably don't remember...
