Yellow Pages

Yellow pages sticking out
Yellow pages full of doubt
Dieing there before my eyes
Turning dust as paper lies.

It’s ancient history to me
That never reached its destiny.
Words that flew from out my soul
Words that never reached its goal

In memories tears it does dissolve
Heart of hearts gone unresolved
Sands passed through the hourglass
My childhood love alas, alas

I sorrow for what could have been
For wishing is no mortal sin
But memories often pinch the nerve
Of appetites that were not served

And I wonder

Does she caste for any reason?
Or have I passed with the season.

YOU are always in season and in style

What a bittersweet beauty this is...my oh my.
Stinky...this is tender render of memories and the wonder of meant to bes...

How could she not wander and wonder of you in her mind
How could her heart not embrace the traces left behind.
~~
Im thinking you leave quite an impression on any one who is lucky enough to have shared time and rhyme

Now for me some words come easy
But I know that they don't mean that much ...
Compared with the things that are said when lovers touch.

Ah, yes, the Moth found the right word...
bittersweet, indeed...
I shall need a crumpet with my tea...

Morning Sy!
Ah, I think we all look back at the 'might have beens'..
'could haves' and 'should haves'..
And we wonder about the people we have met
and what if we had taken a different route.
Everything is as it is supposed to be, I blieve anyway.
Good write.

JM,
It was a time that glowed like cyme
But had little to do with rhyme.
I'll write you tonight about my leaving
With dates. WWRS

Sunshine,
Thank you sweet.

Enchantress,
I think you are right, hugs back.

If anyone has ever written the ache and allure of "might have been"s better, I've missed it. *S* This is superb!

Unanswered questions do haunt both the pain and pleasure of memories.

pondering things from ones past is full of many feelings and images and this poem captures that so well.  Often I have wondered whether I want these questions answered or if they do just a well being the source of other ponderings...Paul

WOW!!! Oh Seymour, I enjoyed the metaphor in these words, sweet friend, its as if you have all these regrets and if onlys that plague the pages of your heart and you can only dial so many numbers yet there are many that when you dial them you get that same "If you'd like a call, please hang up and try again, if you need help, hang up and then dial your operator!" message! (sigh) This is powerfully poignant, sweet friend, I love it, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Seymour, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Sy

Things change so much over time...I found an old love of mine...he was no longer sublime.

Hope you are going away to enjoy...I will miss you.
