Dreams Untold

With that distant look
A story is told
Of hopes within
And dreams untold

Lips slightly apart
And a hint of smile
Forever etched upon
Those hearts beguiled

Lost in contemplation
Immune to autumn chill
Weathered line of face
Mirrored in sandstone sill

Dreams lost within
The faded russet hue
Of times indistinct
Neither gold or blue

Serenely beautiful
A lady of class
Eternally distant
Encased in glass

Maybe all one can do is hope to end up with the right regrets.  ~Arthur Miller

Oh yes!!!!!!!  A duet between two of my favorite poets and a piece of beauty regardless.  Split rhyme captured in preciseness, line splits nailed, and imagery galore, not to mention that you can't even tell who wrote what verse.  Now that glows in the light of great poetry.  Excellent you two.  Good thing she finihed THIS duet first ... James ~ always good to have you stop by, thank you

Mark ~ it must be a long list if I’m on it! I’m not sure if it’s just women or the poetry you can’t rush! Now having said that I think I’ll find a nice quiet corner to hide in for a while!

Sunshine ~ its good to have the chance to stop in for a while.

Enchantress ~ Asalways, its good to know you enjoyed.

Janet ~ well you do know how patient I can be in needed , and yes I too think it was worth the wait.

Mark ~ how do I find a job where you get a lunch break?  lol.

Seymour ~ Thank you, it is an honour to have you think so.

Deb ~ thanks, as Dee says, it was the inspiration for the work.

Noah ~  always a pleasure, thank you.

Sunshine ~ A definition from a dictionary says, Home: “An environment offering security and happiness.” “A valued place regarded as a refuge or place of origin”. Ya know I’ve never been away, least ways not in my heart, thanks again for the welcome back.

Dee ~ Well I certainly hope not my friend, I thank you for the challenge and the opportunity.

mycafe ~ Glad you enjoyed, thank you!

Just found this, I guess the Dee jumped out at me. Hiding behind some ozzi bushes I guess
I must say a great duet, a beauty of a write.
the last line just finishes it perfectly I must say.
