Taking Shape

I rock
beneath
your fingertips
clay pressed
in the hands
of possibilities
earth and water
thrown around
on a spinning world
taking shape
baking in heat
from tomorrows horizon
a million miles away
which can
hold things
no one ever dared
to believe true

She was a vase
Hand formed
With a few
Imperfections
But held water
Held hoping
Held flowers
Kept reflections
Of the soft hand
In soft clay
Touched
And formed
In connection
She was the potter
She was the spin
The clay
The connection
