Give me a break
I can't work late
My wife I promised dinner
You little nit wit

It is almost 7
And his boss asks him to work to 11

He says, "Heck no.
I promised my wife I'd be home at 7.
I can't work to 11."
So his boss gave him a choice
Work or be fired

He calls his wife
Saying he will be home late
She says, "It's okay."
What a loving mate

It is close to 11
The boss asks him
To work an extra hour
He looks at his boss sour

I promised my wife
I'd be home at 11
What are you thinking
I have a wife
I have a life
I have got to get home
You bum

"You work the extra hour
Or you will be fired.
That is my final say.
Pick as you may."

So he worked the extra hour
By the time he got home
His wife was in bed
So he made it up to her the next day instead

Cold hands means a warm heart

Really liked this one, and so true!!!!

By the time he got home,
his wife was in bed.
Not alone,
But with his best friend, Ted.

Is the way I would have finished it!!!!!
