Listening to every heart

Emerald Green

There is a reflection in my soul
that is the shade of resplendent, emerald green,
and while never jealousy does it hold
it draws me forward as if in a dream.

The most serene queen of hues,
its brilliancy like one undone
when looked deep into the emerald stone
perchance one sees the sun.

Other colors are preferred, as is blue
but without emerald green to be held up to
the sky by way of tree-lined horizon
there'd be nothing to take my eyes from.

The color of emerald in silken cloth
shimmers and melds to black
but with pulsation of body's hip
to deep emerald green it comes back.

Emerald lies deep in beautiful song
one hears it in an Irishman's melody
when he softly sings of his love
her green eyes sustaining his rhapsody.

If colors alone ever had true wealth
I would ever be rich in emerald green
for while never jealousy does it hold
it brings me closer to heaven's dreams.
