Toe and ‘Deer went shopping together,
As they were wont to do.
They had prepared their shopping list,
And they'd checked it three times through.

But while they were in the grocery store,
It soon occurred to them,
That Adam Smith had presented a dilemma
For these two, who were more than friends.

There were so many competing brands,
For everything on their list.
They'd discuss every price/benefit issue,
Argue for awhile, then kiss.

Finally they reached the "Paper" aisle,
Where the TP awaited them.
They found multiple choices, without prices,
One or two ply, or ultra thin.

They discussed it awhile, fought for awhile,
Before asking of the prices.
The manger came to break up the ruckus,
And ask them, "What will suffice us?"

They asked about the brands on display,
Way up there on the shelf.
The manager checked his list of prices,
Just to reassure himself.

"The first brand on the left is White Cloud,
"It's a dollar fifty a roll."
"Oh that is far to expensive for us!"
He heard the two fellas extol.

"The next brand's Charmin, it's on sale,
"A roll is only a dollar."
You'd think there'd been murder most foul,
The way Toe and ‘Deer let out a holler.

"The other brand is ‘Old Long John,'
"It's 50 cents with a coupon.
"And for today, for you, it's just half price."
The scalawags selected it, then moved on.

Toe and ‘Deer (a little later) came back,
With frowns upon their face.
They wanted to get their money back,
On the TP for which they'd paid.

Apparently they'd found upon it's use,
And much to their chagrin,
That Old Long John is never gonna take,
Any crap off either of them.

That old ‘Deer and Toe are never gonna learn, are they?  Heh heh

LJA

This was really funny. Can't stop laughing.
Beware of Deer & Toe though.
Even though you won't take anymore crap,
I think you've step in it.

I love it when the scalawags go to war...
Usually I'm a peacenick...
but not in this kind of war.
~ still laughing hugs...

and don't forget that you can't squeeze the Charmin

LJA,
Seems somebody violated John Wayne's patent! Fun write big guy.
