I fell out of bed, then I skinned my poor knee
while wondering what else could happen to me
A question not easily answered 'til day is devoured
So, back in the sack, 'neath the blanket I squirmed
while wondering if my suspicions confirmed
that life would continue without me for just one more hour...

And later...

My coffee got cold, while my toast came out burnt
When I flicked on the tube, it was there that I learnt
that my place of employment was cutting back workers today!
They said 'keep an eye on your answering machine
If you were laid off they will give you a ring'
I tried to ignore the red light as the phone rang away...

Later still...

Went back up the stairs, snuggled into my nest
to daydream, and snore, at which both I'm the best!
I blissfully wrote the whole day off as badly defunct
What a perfect solution, it worked like a dream
Such a pleasant diversion from life's wretched scheme
Found a way to enjoy any morning that starts out as 'Skunked'!!

Open the door and let your adventure begin!!!

ha ha, I love it!  I had a very similar day just like this the other day.  You wrote it much better than I could have.  Well done!

Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

Another nice one from that special songwriters pen of yours - Tom T Hall sang a song about it, I think.   Well written darling, now go and do the washing up !!!!!

Our travels through life are made easiest or hardest mainly through the attitude in which we face them.  Wonderfully expressed and nice to see your words smiling these days.  Enjoyed both.
