I wrote this for all large people
who bear the brunt of constant
taunts just because of their weight.
We need to be more accepting in our
society and not judge a book by its
cover, as the saying goes.

* * * * *

You really can't say you know me
Until you've walked a mile in my shoes
Long ago I lost count
Of how many times I sang the blues

The constant stares and sniggers
Still torment my fragile heart
I am proud of who I am
For I have much love to impart

But so many can't see past
The fact that I am big
I've heard all the degrading names
You lump of lard, you big fat pig

How dare you shout obsenities
Without knowing this person within
I have a heart as big as Texas
What I weigh is not a sin

I've tried so many diets
But they haven't worked for me
So please accept me as I am
And respect this person I've come to be

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

I know how this feels. I have been overweight all my life. Good poem.

Sue Hi there Finally I can get on here to reply to your wonderful poem, you have no idea how inconvenient are mum’s computer problems. How could she kill it like that I do not know.

This is an excellent write from you I really enjoyed it, the lines flow incredibly smoothly and the content is as all of your are excellent. I know exactly what you mean you write so well and I’m always overjoyed to see your name, because I know it will be a great poem

Love and warm stuff
As always

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sue, I agree with this 100%, it too saddens me so much to see so many depicting people by fashion! (sigh) I wish we could all whole-heartedly look at each other and see the true colors everyone has, sweet friend, for it is the heart that matters most! (sigh) My heart joins you in your thoughts, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Sue:  I'm really sorry to hear that you have been hurt by careless remarks about your size.  You look great to me and you are a beautiful person!

Oh Sue, I am so sorry this has happened to you. I, for one, think you are a wonderful person. And, I don't think too much of people, who make unkind remarks. *HUGS*

You know life's pretty tough most of the time anyway....and when you're young and on the "hunt" so they say, it's sad how folks are treated because of weight, or problems, or anything else someone can point out....but as you grow older and hopefully wiser....it's like sex....the things that seemed so important then are replaced by what really is important....the majority of the gals I dated when I was younger look like hell now....(which in many cases went right along with their personalities)....I think when someone's different in some way, they become stronger from the wise ass remarks and usually a better, more understanding person....too bad so many people never truly see the whole person....our society is stuck on "looks" and money.....material things are usually the most useless things available....and if ya think about it...the hardest to attain......nice write....

This is an incredibly beautiful poem, Sue.
I have seen this happen to people who are overweight and its so sad that they are judged by their weight.

Beauty comes from within
it shines out through the eyes
don't judge a person by how they look
there's more to love in a bigger size

Your picture looks great to me, and I can tell by your poems that you are a beautiful person on the inside.....and thats what really counts.
~ loving hugs

After enough taunts, the hecklers can be silent... for their words will echo long after, a sizzling acid searing the soul.

Excellent write, Sue. *S*
