Meant to be said for human ears
distined for ridicule or praise
by hidden peers
created for us to speak
yet sounded at our peak
were meant to be heard...

words infringe, trespass
eons pass
listeners hear, minds fast...
in awe at how long garble lasts?

Toerag,

that's an interesting slant to this. Some people use their teeth instead..and in the last fight against Lewis, his credentials went out the window...I'd hate to repeat his words there for this website.

I was thinking of the "friends, Romans, countrymen" bit in Julius Ceasar.

Martin...I always thought that phrase  was an oxymoron...
How can you "lend" someone your ear?

great poem, though

Hi Lyra,

And if you lend, you borrow...yes, English does have some beauties.

some words to ponder on listening - how long what we say lasts - the power of our words and the challenges of listening - thanks for the thought provoking poetry - Paul

I knew what you were referring to...and, I don't think Tyson had much for credentials before his fight with Lewis....I doubt seriously I couldda whupped Tyson when I was in my prime...maybe on the street....but I sure wouldda loved too....there are few human beings, (if you want to call him human), or anything else on this earth I despise more than him).....I love your work, you've obviously had alot of education and have a great way of writing what you've learned...
