Touch Not The Memory

Touch not the memory let it slumber on
That half forgotten memory will soon be gone
There is only a thought struggling to survive
Trying to take me back, an old touch to revive
There is no knowing where the danger still stays
The touch of memory lingers for countless days
Although dead and buried it won’t lie and rot
Its time and past for this lost thought to be forgot

Rouse not the memory don’t call forth its fears
For inside the memory lurks oceans of tears
The dreams that I dreamt have faded from my view
Leaving just a hollow dream that didn’t come true
Thoughts of summer days flow into autumn’s light
Dragging the memory into its dark sight
Don’t walk the path of forgotten less you are lost
Nor ride the wings of darkness don’t bear pain’s cost

Stir not the memory let it fade from you
Let it sink into depths where it’s lost to your view
Inside that memory is this fragile thought
Of dreams dearest wishes and a hope best unsought
This butterfly memory can do you no good
Taking you to pain that’s never understood
Let this thing go let it just slip away gently
Don’t touch this sore thought touch not the memory

Marsha

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the earthquake wind and fire
