~Electronic Monster~

Your face is big and bright and square
as you fix me with your stoic glare
you speak in bleeps and blurps and blips
a language spoken without lips

a hungry thief, you steal my time
electronic monster...asinine!
held captive before you, I can't get away
you're much too much fun, my work...you betray

but you've taken me places, I haven't yet seen
a friend as well as a foe, you've been
you keep me in touch with family and friends
through emails received and those that I send

sometimes you won't work, "fatal error" you say
your face looks so cold, as you ruin my day
so hard to believe, when your face looks so mean
in spite of our friendship, you're just a machine

just a jumble of circuits, you haven't a care
but just how did I function, before you were there?
~

I couldn't at first imagine
how the time would fly
sitting before a computer
my little brain just fried

but lo and behold the time it goes
as comforting words continue to flow...

Lyra darling heart this is perfect and so very very true, the hours it steals from me and the perfidy of its faithlessness.

Thank you for understanding

As always your writing is alive with vibrancy and delight. I love this utterly utterly love it

Thanks so much, Karilea...
Isn't it the truth though...When I sit here, I cannot believe how the time flies.

Marsha...
thanks for your reply, and I'm so happy that your computer will be coming home next week.
I think that if not for David, I would have crashed my computer badly...many many times.
Before I met him, I actually ruined my old computer that way...

Lyra Hi there Finally I can get on here to reply to your wonderful poem, you have no idea how inconvenient are mum’s computer problems. How could she kill it like that I do not know.

This is so very very true, as I know, I’m hoping she will be nicer to it when she gets it back

Love and warm stuff

Thanks so much for your reply, Krissy...
Computer problems are so frustrating that they often lead us to behaviors of which we may not be proud...
I have often had to restrain myself from punching my computer in the face.

Thanks Larry....I am always always right, and David is finally learning that lesson, so I guess you got off the hook pretty easy.

Thanks so much Sue...
I would too, so I'm thinking of giving her a name.  David says she must be female because she gives him so much trouble...
Maybe I'll call her Della because she is a Dell...
